Terms and Conditions for Listing
The terms and conditions set out below apply to the use of the listing services on The Graduate Junction ( www.graduatejunction.com). By registering for and using the listing services you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. We also strongly encourage you to read our privacy policy which forms part of these terms and conditions. No alteration of these conditions shall be effective unless expressly agreed to in writing by The Graduate Junction creators.
The Graduate Junction accepts listings of graduate degree courses and studentships, careers and conferences.
Registration for listing services
Only members with an active listing account can upload listings to The Graduate Junction. Registration must be performed through www.graduatejunction.com. A valid email address must be supplied in order to receive the account activation email. Upon activating your listing account you will be given access to the restricted areas of The Graduate Junction which handle the uploading of and payment for listings. Access to these restricted areas of The Graduate Junction is allowed on the assumption that you will adhere to these terms and conditions as well and do not abuse the functionality of the website. We reserve the right to delete listing accounts at any time if we feel they are being used to post malicious items on The Graduate Junction or abuse other members of The Graduate Junction.
Publication of Listings
All listings will appear on graduatejunction.com once they have been activated. Activation may occur in several ways. If the listings are being provided for free the listings will be activated immediately and will appear on the website upon submission to graduatejunction.com. If the listings are subject to charges they will become active once payment has been received via PayPal. If a registered listing member chooses to pay by invoice the listing will be activated by a member of The Graduate Junction team as soon as possible.* (see payment terms below).
All listings will be published on the site for the duration specified when the listing is uploaded. After this time the listing will be automatically removed from graduatejunction.com. The start date will be date at which the advertisement is submitted to the site.
Listing providers may edit published listings but may not make changes such that a different listing for a different graduate degree, conference or career is deemed to have been created, in the opinion of The Graduate Junction team. The Graduate Junction reserves the right to invoice listing providers for any new listings that have been created in this way, and/or to suspend the listing in question.
Payment
The Graduate Junction prefers payment by PayPal to ensure we can maintain our low costs and provide comprehensive listings to the graduate community. Payment by PayPal ensures immediate activation of submitted listings.
Listing providers may contact The Graduate Junction to discuss alternative payment options such as payment by invoice. Invoicing terms and conditions will be provided upon such requests.
Information Provided by Listing Providers
All information given by listing providers on any part of the site, including listing content, must be accurate and up to date. It is the listing providers responsibility to ensure that content is not misleading, inaccurate, and does not make false claims, or claims that could be construed as false or misleading about their own or any other organisation, or students that have attended their organisation. The Graduate Junction does not accept liability for any actions taken or not taken by any other Graduate Junction member as a result of a Listing Provider submitting incorrect information on the site.
The Graduate Junction reserves the right to withdraw without notice, listings of any type, or written contributions to any part of the public side of the site, by Listing Providers, should any of the information uploaded contravene any of the terms and conditions in this document, or should they be, in the opinion of The Graduate Junction, inappropriate or offensive in such a way as to be likely to bring The Graduate Junction into disrepute. In such circumstances, no refunds will be given.
The Graduate Junction Services
We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted or secure access to our services, and by using our website, you accept that we do not. We do not accept liability for any loss or damage to persons or property caused by the interruption of any part or all of our services.
The Graduate Junction cannot check or confirm the claimed identity of members or the accuracy or honesty of the information provided by members on our website. Although we make best efforts to monitor the activity of graduatejunction.com we cannot control all of the information posted by members and therefore we cannot guarantee its accuracy, content, character or tone.
Your general activities on our website
‘Your activities' includes any and every posting you make on graduatejunction.com, whether directly related to a listing, or not. It also includes all information you may provide to us, or to any third party, including other members or the site, that is in any way related to activity in which you engage on our website.
Your activities on our website must not:
a) Be false, inaccurate, misleading, dishonest or fraudulent
b) Be offensive, menacing, abusive, defamatory, obscene or indecent, or in breach of copyright, confidence, privacy or any other rights
c) Infringe any third party's copyright, patent, trademark or any other legal rights
d) Be in breach of any applicable laws
f) Create liability for us or cause us to lose (in whole or part) the services of our ISP or any other suppliers.
g) Link directly or indirectly to, or otherwise promote, mention, include or imply, descriptions of goods or services that are prohibited under these Terms and Conditions, or that you do not have a right to link to or include.
h) Contain or include in any way any computer-borne, -driven or related elements of any sort designed to disrupt the normal operations of any computer or website, or designed to remove, copy, or otherwise gain unauthorised access to the information contained on our website or on the computers of any other Graduate Junction member.
i) Cause any disruption of any sort to the normal functioning of our website, or any risk of disruption at any point in the future.
You allow The Graduate Junction the perpetual, non-exclusive right to use or quote from any of the information or postings you provide us with through the use of our services, either elsewhere on our website or outside our website for any reasonable purpose including but not limited to, publicity and promotion, other than as restricted under our Privacy Policy in any media known or currently unknown.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us and (as applicable) our subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, agents and employees, harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your breach of these Terms and Conditions or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
Notices
Unless otherwise explicitly stated, notices to The Graduate Junction must be sent by registered mail to The Graduate Junction, Block 2, Mountjoy Research Centre, Stockton Road, Durham, DH1 3UZ. Notices to you will be sent to the email address you provide us with during the registration process (receipt is deemed 24 hours after an email is sent, unless notice is received that the email address is invalid), or by registered mail.
Use of material on the site
Please do not download and distribute information from The Graduate Junction without asking us first. If you plan to distribute information please contact us to describe what you are planning to do. The printing and distribution of our poster may be done without asking for further permission.
